Smaran 2026

Smaran is an annual tribute held in loving memory of artist Kritika Uniyal. Through this event, we honor her artistic journey, passion for creativity, and the inspiration she continues to provide. By bringing together a community of artists and enthusiasts each year, the foundation aims to celebrate her legacy while promoting art, culture, and meaningful creative expression.

After receiving immense love over the past two years, Smaran returns, bigger and better than ever. Join Yashkritika Foundation for a week-long celebration of creativity at Uttara Art Gallery from 14–20 May 2026. This year’s edition brings together artists and art lovers through a vibrant exhibition, live demonstrations, and free Aipan and Mandala art workshops rooted in tradition and mindfulness.

Art Exhibition

The exhibition will showcase a curated collection of artworks by participating artists over seven days.

  • Each artist can display one artwork free of cost

  • Additional artworks can be displayed at ₹500 per painting

  • All artworks (except those by Mrs. Kritika Uniyal) will be available for sale

  • Artist and artwork details will be featured in the official event booklet

  • Participation certificates will be awarded on 20 May 2026

Important Notes:

  • Submission window: 5–13 May 2026

  • Artworks must be properly framed

  • Collection of artworks after the event: 20–22 May 2026

  • Registrations are first-come, first-served due to limited space

Aipan Art Workshop

Join us for a beautiful journey into the world of traditional Himalayan art at the Aipan Art Workshop organized by Yashkritika Foundation as part of Smaran 2026.

Aipan is a traditional folk art form from Uttarakhand, historically practiced to decorate homes, prayer spaces, and areas of cultural significance. Created using white patterns on a red background, Aipan designs are deeply symbolic, often representing prosperity, harmony, and spiritual energy. The art is known for its intricate geometric patterns and meaningful motifs passed down through generations.

In this workshop, participants will learn the basics of Aipan art, understand its cultural significance, and create their own artwork step by step. The session is suitable for beginners as well as art enthusiasts.

What we’ll provide: Aipan Artboards/ Canvas and practice sheets
What you need to bring: Red and white acrylic colours, paint brush (0 number), Pencil, Compass, Ruler, Eraser, Sharpener

Please note that all paintings created during the event will be displayed in the exhibition and will remain the property of Yashkritika Foundation.

Mandala Art Workshop

Join us for a calming and creative journey into the intricate world of Mandala Art at the Mandala Art Workshop organized by Yashkritika Foundation as part of Smaran 2026.

Mandala art is a meditative and symbolic form of expression that represents balance, harmony, and unity. Rooted in ancient traditions, mandalas are created using repetitive patterns arranged in a circular form, helping artists experience mindfulness and inner peace. This art form is widely appreciated for its therapeutic benefits and its ability to enhance focus and creativity.

In this workshop, participants will learn the fundamentals of mandala design, explore pattern creation techniques, and create their own unique artwork step by step. The session is ideal for beginners as well as art lovers looking to unwind through creativity.

What we’ll provide: Mandala artboards, black A4 sized sheets

What you need to bring: Any 3 shades of acrylic colour of your choice, pencil, eraser, sharpener, ruler, compass, dot mandala tools
